Opening in May 1997, The Gate is a bona fide pioneer NYC Craft Beer Bar. Here long before our city was considered a beer destination. We are one of the oldest craft beer bars in the city and the oldest craft beer bar in the borough of Brooklyn! A local pub in the traditional fashion.  

We have an extensive and rotating selection of 50+ American Craft Ales & Lagers on hand at all times in draught, can and bottle formats.  

We offer a comfortable pub setting indoors as well as outdoor seating on our side spacious patio. You can also come sit on the sidewalk out along 5th Avenue in favorable weather, grab a drink and watch the world go by! On summer weekends we open up additional seating on 5th Avenue during Open Streets! 

We are a fully licensed establishment offering liquor, wine and cocktails.
